The most famous beach on the island is Myrtos, which is considered one of the most impressive beaches in the Mediterranean Sea. Other beautiful beaches in Kefalonia are Antisamos, Avithos, Ai Helis, Ammes, Koroni, Lourdas, Petani, Trapezaki, Skala, Xi and Makris Gialos, but to name only a few. Myrtos Beach

Description: Myrtos is the most famous and beautiful beach of Kefalonia. It is actually a large coast with turqoise water and white sand/pebbles, surrounded by steep cliffs. There is plenty of parking, and don’t be surprised to see a yacht or 2 anchored on the bay!
Ai Helis Beach

Description: One of the best beaches on the southern side of Kefalonia, Ai-Helis is a sandy and organized beach close to the airport and other resorts.
Ammes Beach

Description: A golden sandy beach on the southern side of the island, Ammes is a relaxing place in close distance to the capital. There is a slight wind here and the water remains shallow for a long distance out to sea, making it perfect for children.

Description: Avithos is a beautiful beach on the southern side of Kefalonia. Golden and with crystal water, Avithos is surrounded by a wild steep cliff, providing magical sunsets in the evening.
Koroni Beach

Description: Sitting on the south eastern side of the island, between Lourdata and Katelios, Koroni is a small golden sandy beach enclosed by tall steep cliffs. The drive down to Koroni from the main road can be interesting, so make sure you drive slowly, but trust me – its worth it!
Lourdas Beach

Description: The area of Lourdata is a calm beach resort on the southern side of Kefalonia. The beach has white sand and it is organized with umbrellas and sun beds. This long strip is full of bars and tavernas, so everything you need is right here.
Makris Gialos Beach

Petani Beach

Description: This is a beautiful beach that reminds a lot the bay of Myrtos, the most famous beach on Kefalonia. It is located in the peninsula of Lixouri, on the western side of the island.

Description: Trapezaki Kefalonia: Trapezaki is a beautiful beach located 15 km southeast of Argostoli, the main town of Kefalonia and 2 km from Lourdata village. The beach is totally unspoilt offering an enchanting landscape that captivates all visitors. Certain amenities like mini-market and a tavern are found nearby. Trapezaki offers spots for both relaxation and more noisy atmosphere. The long sandy beach provides a nice choice for quiet family vacation. Water sports are also available for all ages. The nearest village is Moussata, which is a few minutes drive away. The countryside is excellent for taking walks and finding the local tracks.
