Antisamos Beach

Antisamos Kefalonia: Antisamos beach is arguably one of the most favourable destinations for swimming and sunbathing in Kefalonia. It is located 27km east from Argostoli and pretty close to the port of Sami, where perhaps you can tie in a visit to the beach with a ferry to the mainland. Antisamos distinguishes for its natural beauty that consists of turquoise waters and a marvelous surrounding of green hills and lush vegetation on top of it, making it one the most picturesque locations on the island.

A beach like this could be nothing but well-organized with umbrellas and sundecks. It is this stunning scenery that characterizes this area and captivates all visitors. Antisamos has gained worldwide reputation from the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, starring Nicholas Cage and Penelope Cruz, where some of the scenes were filmed there. It is easily accessed from a coastal road in Sami.

Behind the hill there is a great spot for sunbathers and nature lovers. Apart from the beach that is considered a beautiful sightseeing itself, the monastery of Agrillion stands on top of the hill and is worth visiting.
