Koroni Beach

Kefalonia Koroni: Koroni beach is a beautiful sandy cove that lies around the natural bay of Mounda and 22 km east of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. The beach is also quite close to Skala. Koroni is a nice sandy beach surrounded by tall steep cliffs and lush vegetation. It used to be an important haven for the turtles but the clay from the cliffs has made the sans quite dense, creating an inhospitable environment for these small creatures. Today, the beach is quite developed with sunbeds and umbrellas. With the combination of the clay and pebbles, don’t be surprised to see people creating messages in the sand or lathering themselves in the clay from the cliffs – the perfect Instagram picture!

The beautiful beach of Koroni is reachable through a track path from Skala or Mavratas. The area offers an amazing sunset and panoramic views of the cape and the blue horizon. For food visit the small village of Thiromnas, or the taverna that you pass on the track to the beach.
